Description:

Shemin Nurseries, Inc., a leader in providing plants, tools, and supplies to the landscape and contractor professional for over 50 years with 30 locations across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Southeast seeks a high energy, customer focused, and hands-on Human Resource Director to be based out of our corporate office in Danbury, Connecticut.
As a member of the executive team and reporting to the CEO, this person will be a key contributor to the success of the company. The person we seek is a high-energy senior level professional capable of designing strategic initiatives that align with the organizational goals and business objectives. Major areas of accountability are as follows:

Employee relations, communications, policies and procedures

Training, performance management and organization development
Recruitment strategy, retention programs and succession planning
Employee benefits, compensation plans, insurances and payroll
Legal compliance (HR record keeping, AA, EEOC) and safety programs



Requires:

7-10 years of experience operating as a senior level HR professional as a strategic business partner to the executive team.
Masters degree in Human Resource Management, S/PHR Certification preferred.
Experience managing a team of other HR Professionals.
The ability to travel on a regular basis, sometimes with short notice.
Advanced writing and communication skills and an ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
Experience with mergers, acquisitions and culture integration issues.
Distribution or retail / sales / service industry experience strongly preferred.
Experience working in a multicultural industry setting preferred. (Spanish preferred)
