Human Resource Assistant

Immediate Supervisor: Human Resource Manager
Department: Human Resources

Synopsis of Role:
Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department and assists with new employee processing.

Functions:
• Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
• Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains current books.
• Submits the online investigation requests and assists with new employee background checks.
• Updates HR spreadsheet(s) to track I-9 and background checks.
• Processes requests for employment verifications.
• Assists HR Manager and/or Payroll and Benefits Manager with various research projects and/or special projects.
• Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions.
• Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
• Prepares HR new employee booklets
• Prepares new employee files.
• Enters benefit enrollment information into the system.
• Updates staff phone list with current extension, photo id, and biography.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
o AA degree preferred.
o HR experience preferred.
