Description:Human Resources AdministratorApril 11, 2008 The Girl Scouts of Northern California is a strong non-profit that services community areas from the Bay Area up to the Oregon border. The Council has over 200 dedicated employees who work within our communities to serve over 55,000 girl and 32,000 adult members. We seek a flexible Human Resources (HR) Administrator to enter and update employee data into the HRIS/payroll system including entering new hire and terminated employee data, time-off benefit hour accruals and leave of absence tracking. Create management reports using the payroll system. Conduct online job posting process and other recruiting support functions. Maintain workers compensation claims reporting and record keeping. The HR Administrator helps to build positive employee relations. Reports to and provides administrative support to the Senior Director, Human Resources as needed (e.g. correspondence, record keeping, reconciliation, file maintenance, etc.) Job requirements and experience include: * Minimum 2 years work experience in human resources. Must have at least one year working knowledge of HR principles and practices. Bachelor's degree in the human resources field or PHR certification may replace a portion of the work experience expectation. * Minimum Associates Degree with coursework related to business, accounting, bookkeeping, computing or payroll principles, including Wage/Hour law. Bachelors' degree is highly preferred. * Prior experience with an HRIS/payroll or information database. Accurate and attention to detail entry skills. * Strong mathematical ability to calculate invoice totals, salary calculations, etc. * Strong MS Excel spreadsheet, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook experience - at least one year practical experience using these tools. Must have experience using the internet to find and review resources related to recruiting, labor law information and business services, etc. * Excellent organization skills to manage and prioritize multiple projects; meet deadlines; exhibit attention to detail and strong follow-through. Flexibility to work effectively in a changing environment. * Utilize superior written and verbal communication skills. * Works under general supervision, however after on-the-job training is completed the incumbent will be required to work using self-initiative to set job tasks and priorities. * Demonstrated customer service orientation for all constituencies: employees, volunteers, vendors and members of the public. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. * Knowledge of the Girl Scouts is a plus. We offer a competitive salary, a diverse and pleasant work environment.
