Description:Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: Human Resources Location: Schenectady, NY Job #: 837408 Posted: Aug 06, 2008 Responsibilities - The Human Resources Manager for Energy Engineering Division will provide Human Resource (HR) leadership to ~1,000 engineering employees; 800 employees at the Schenectady, NY site and ~ 200 employees at the global sites including India, Mexico, Germany, Poland, Russia. - HR manager for 150 IFPTE union drafting employees, partnering with UR office. - Lead for Session C, salary planning, employee development, performance management, engagement projects and retention efforts. - Drive Energy Engineering growth initiatives, talent exchange for the purpose of global training and integration, site staffing strategy, recruiting, hiring (interviewing, evaluating and placement) and transferring technical talent. - Develop diverse recruiting pipeline through diverse engineering organizations and internal GE Affinity organizations. - Responsible for keeping updated personnel records for compliance and auditing purposes. - Partnering with GM and finance to comply with budget allocated. - Manage employee Ombudsperson and compliance investigations. - Lead onsite orientation and assimilation processes for new talent and managers. - Partner with local Energy HR team to execute energy-wide initiatives. - Instill a strong engineering culture focused on global integration, accountability, technical rigor and depth through proactive training on relevant topics for employees and managers. Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Relations, Industrial Relations or other Human Resources disciplines. - Minimum 8 years Human Resources experience including employee relations. Desired - Masters degree in related field. - Strong analytical and influencing skills, project management and process skills. - Strategic thinker. - Outstanding communication, teaming and interpersonal skills. - Ability to handle multiple priorities, initiates, lead and manage change. - Technology industry experience. - Global human resources experience.
